Payroll Legislation
- What PAYE is, understanding the key dates in the tax year, paying the Collector of Taxes, the rates of tax and NICs, personal allowances, tax and NIC thresholds, the importance of NI numbers, what NICs rebates are.
Advanced Tax and NI procedures
- Investigate criteria for determining employment and employment status.
- Implications of tax and NI contributions on termination payments
- Investigate the treatment of directors for Ni purposes
- Investigate the implications of tax and NI on pension payments
- Examining the tax and NI rules relating to the construction Industry scheme.
Employment Law procedures
- Investigate the principles of the Employment Rights Act
- Investigate and examine strategies for managing compliance with the National Minimum Wage Regulations.
- Investigate and examine strategies for managing compliance with the Working time Regulations.
- Investigate the principles relating to Maternity Rights.
Development of General Management Skills
- Investigate the potential for fraud, its prevention and evaluate disaster prevention schemes in relation to payroll.
- Examine the principles of Staff Development techniques
- Investigate strategies for developing and managing job evaluation schemes.
- Investigate strategies for managing the Data Protection Legislation within the payroll environment.

This step will cost £1497 plus VAT.
The cost to move on to the Payroll Manager (Diploma in Payroll Management) programme after completing this step would be an additional £900.
